Zukido – Software development company

Zukido, a Birmingham based software development company working in the online gambling market, approached us for help with a Live Betting application they were developing for Victor Chandler, one of the largest British bookmakers.

Zukido supplies cutting edge live betting applications, and online games to some of the best known names in the gambling industry. Sports betting is currently being revolutionised by the new breed of “Live Betting” applications, which provide a visually rich, constantly updated environment for users to gamble on sporting events whilst they are “in play”.

In 2009, Zukido won the commission to work with Victor Chandler, developing their new Live Betting application, with a brief to develop a visually striking, feature rich tool to revolutionise their live betting product.

Zukido approached Action to be their design partner on the project, providing design expertise to go with their experienced development team, working on providing an elegant yet intuitive application, which would stand out from the crowd when compared to other bookmakers’ offerings.

After conducting a review of the design of existing live betting applications, Action provided Zukido with their recommendations, and design proposals, which were then refined between the two companies before arriving at a final design.

The final released product includes live scoreboards for seven sports (with four more on the way), and is fully multilingual, even working with right-to-left as well as latin languages (a first for online bookmakers).

In the time since release, the application has been a runaway success, with Victor Chandler increasing their live betting user base by 50 percent, and seeing live betting turnover grow an incredible 300 percent.
